March is finally here! Indeed, spring is peeking around the corner. As a result, the days are getting longer. My planner is practically bursting with fun holidays and celebrations! Spread some kindness and positivity by giving out genuine compliments! Originating in the Netherlands, World Compliment Day is a global initiative to promote positivity and appreciation. Specifically, tell someone how much you appreciate them or acknowledge their accomplishments.

✨National Read Across America Day:
Curl up with a good book and celebrate the joy of reading! Read Across America Day was established in 1998 by the National Education Association. This day promotes literacy and encourages a lifelong love of reading. In particular, visit your local library, attend a book reading, or simply spend some time reading your favorite book.

Oh, the places you’ll go! Celebrate the legendary Dr. Seuss and his whimsical world of characters and rhymes. Born Theodor Seuss Geisel in 1904, Dr. Seuss has delighted generations with his imaginative stories. For example, read your favorite Seuss book or wear some crazy socks in honor of the Cat in the Hat.
March 3rd: World Wildlife Day
Let’s celebrate all the amazing creatures that share our planet! World Wildlife Day was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 2013. The day is meant to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild animals and plants. In other words, learn about endangered species and how you can help protect them.
March 4th
✨Mardi Gras
Laissez les bons temps rouler! Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, is a carnival celebration culminating on the day before Ash Wednesday. Mardi Gras has roots in medieval Europe. It is now celebrated in many parts of the world, most notably in New Orleans. The celebrations include parades, costumes, and festive revelry. Embrace the spirit of Mardi Gras by indulging in some delicious Cajun food or attending a local parade. And don’t forget to eat King Cake!

Time to brush up on your grammar skills! Founded in 2008 by Martha Brockenbrough, National Grammar Day promotes the importance of proper grammar. To illustrate, celebrate by playing a grammar game or sharing your favorite grammar memes.

These cheesy, crunchy snacks are a guilty pleasure for many. The first puffed cornmeal snack was invented in the 1930s. In short, celebrate by grabbing a bag of your favorite Cheese Doodles and enjoying a nostalgic treat.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season, a time of reflection and repentance in many Christian traditions. The practice of placing ashes on the forehead symbolizes mortality and the need for repentance. Observe Ash Wednesday by attending a church service or engaging in personal reflection.
March 6th: National Dentist’s Day:
Show your appreciation for your dentist and their team! The first official Dentist’s Day was celebrated in 1840 to recognize the contributions of dentists. For instance, maybe schedule your next cleaning and mark it in your planner.
March 7th: National Cereal Day:
What’s your go-to cereal? National Cereal Day was first established in 1983 to promote healthy breakfast choices. (Which we know now is not the case.) However, it is a good time to celebrate by enjoying a bowl of your favorite kind.
Week 2: Springing into Celebrations!
March 8th: International Women’s Day:
A day to celebrate the incredible achievements of women around the world! The first National Woman’s Day was observed in the United States on February 28, 1909. As a result, let’s honor the women who inspire us and continue the fight for gender equality.

March 9th: National Barbie Day:
Truly, this iconic doll has inspired generations of girls to dream big. Barbie was introduced to the world on March 9, 1959, at the American International Toy Fair in New York. To celebrate, dig up your old Barbie Dolls s or learn about Barbie’s diverse career paths.
March 10th: International Day of Awesomeness:
Time to unleash your inner awesome! Created in 2007 by Kevin Lawver, this day encourages everyone to embrace their unique talents. It also inspires people to celebrate the awesomeness in themselves and others. So go ahead, rock that outfit, try that new hobby, and let your awesomeness shine!
March 11th: National Dream Day:
Chase those dreams! This day is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on your aspirations. Set new goals during this time. In particular, write down your dreams. Create a vision board. Take a small step towards making one of your dreams a reality.
March 12th
✨Plant a Flower Day:
Let’s add some color and beauty to the world! It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the arrival of spring. Specifically, get your hands dirty and plant some flowers in your garden, a pot, or even a window box!
✨National Girl Scouts Day:
Celebrate the Girl Scouts and their commitment to leadership, community service, and adventure! Founded in 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low, the Girl Scouts have empowered girls for over a century. Support your local troop, buy some delicious cookies, or learn more about the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
March 13th: National K9 Veterans Day:
This is a day to honor the brave dogs who have served our country. National K9 Veterans Day was established in 2016 to recognize the service and sacrifice of military working dogs. For this reason, learn about the different roles K9 veterans play or donate to a K9 charity.
March 14th: Pi Day:
Celebrate the mathematical constant pi (3.14159…) with some delicious pie! The first known Pi Day celebration was held in 1988 at the Exploratorium in San Francisco. Overall, celebrate by baking or eating pie or learning more about pi.
Week 3: Mid-March Merriment!
March 15th: National Napping Day:
Who doesn’t love a good nap? The idea for National Napping Day was conceived in 1999 by William Anthony, a professor at Boston University. Therefore, celebrate this day by taking a break and catching some Zzz’s.
March 16th: National Panda Day:
These adorable creatures are loved by people of all ages. The exact origin of National Panda Day is unknown. However, it’s a great opportunity to raise awareness about these endangered animals. In the same way, learn about panda habitats and conservation efforts.
March 17th: St. Patrick’s Day:
Leprechauns, shamrocks, and everything green! St. Patrick’s Day has been observed as a religious holiday in Ireland since the 17th century. Similarly, celebrate Irish culture and have some festive fun! Don’t forget to wear green.

March 18th: Global Recycling Day:
Let’s do our part to protect the planet by recycling! Global Recycling Day was established in 2018 by the Global Recycling Foundation. Moreover, make an effort to recycle more or learn about different recycling methods.
March 19th: National Let’s Laugh Day:
Laughter is the best medicine! Madan Kataria founded National Let’s Laugh Day. He believes that laughter is a universal language. It can promote peace and understanding. In fact, share a joke, watch a funny movie, and spread some joy!
March 20th: First Day of Spring:
Finally! Celebrate the arrival of warmer weather, longer days, and blooming flowers! The spring equinox has been celebrated by various cultures throughout history as a time of renewal and rebirth. In essence, enjoy the sunshine and fresh air!

March 21st: World Poetry Day:
Let’s celebrate the power and beauty of poetry! World Poetry Day was proclaimed by UNESCO in 1999. It recognizes the unique ability of poetry to capture the creative spirit of the human mind. Read your favorite poems, attend a poetry slam, or try your hand at writing your own verse!
Week 4: Wrapping Up March!
March 22nd: National Goof Off Day:
Permission to be a little silly! This day is the perfect excuse to take a break from your responsibilities and just have some fun. So go ahead, indulge in some guilt-free goofing off.
March 23rd: National Puppy Day:
Awww, puppies! Celebrate these adorable fur babies! National Puppy Day was founded in 2006 by Colleen Paige, a pet lifestyle expert and author. Celebrate by sharing your puppy pics or volunteer at an animal shelter.

March 24th: National Cocktail Day:
Cheers! Celebrate by trying a new cocktail recipe. The origins of National Cocktail Day are unclear, but the first definition of a cocktail was printed in 1806. In short, mix up your favorite cocktail and enjoy!
March 25th: International Waffle Day:
Waffles, anyone? This is the perfect excuse to have a waffle breakfast or brunch. The first waffle iron was patented in the United States in 1869. Simply put, celebrate by making or eating waffles!

Unleash your creativity and celebrate something near and dear to your heart! It’s a great opportunity to add some extra fun and whimsy to your life. So go ahead, declare a holiday for your favorite hobby, food, or even your pet!

Show your feline friend some extra love and appreciation! Respect Your Cat Day was created to raise awareness about responsible cat ownership. Specifically, spend some quality time with your cat and show them how much you care.

Support your local small businesses! This day was created to recognize the hard work and dedication of small business owners. Therefore, shop at your local mom and pop stores and show your support.
March 30th: National Doctors’ Day:
Show your appreciation for the doctors who care for our health. The first Doctors’ Day observance was held on March 30, 1933, in Winder, Georgia. For instance, thank your doctor or learn about the history of medicine.

March 31st: National Crayon Day:
Let your creativity flow with some colorful crayons! The first box of Crayola crayons was introduced in 1903. Ultimately, get creative with crayons and make some colorful artwork.
